01/THE CLIENT

Inaugurated in 2011, this is one of the main museums in the city of Malaga, and is home to one of the most important collections of Spanish and Andalusian painting.

02/THE CHALLENGE

Due to its cultural and international character, the Museo Carmen Thyssen de Málaga places special importance on the quality of its multilingual contents, as it receives a significant number of foreign visitors. For this reason, a strategic ally such as Nóvalo was needed to take charge of the entire process of translating and localising the museum’s official website into English, both linguistically and technically.

03/THE SOLUTION

As a first step, a consultancy was carried out in order to establish the needs of the project, from all points of view (technical and linguistic). This meeting was essential to gather the indispensable information regarding the analysis of the web in general, as well as to find out about the programming language used, since in this case it was necessary to work and translate directly on the web code already in use. Once the technical processes had been resolved and the possible aspects to be taken into account had been analysed, the team of native professional translators translated the content of the website into the chosen language, in this case English, taking into account the technical characteristics when translating within the code, respecting and modifying part of the code to obtain a web version presenting not only a high quality translation, but also with a web structure and appearance identical to that in Spanish. After the previous phases, we carried out the final functional checks such as visual closing of the entire website in its new language.
